If you’re a fellow Youtube subscriber, you probably saw my video about the E.L.F Beauty Shield collection. It has now been almost a month since I started using these products and today I’ll talk about the Massaging Overnight Recovery Cream.

I first loved the thought of a massage for the face, I personally don’t know anyone who doesn’t like a good massage. This cream comes in a squeeze tube, which end has 5 rollerballs that are what massages the cream into your skin. To be honest these rollerballs don’t feel that nice on the face, especially on more bone-y areas like the forehead, it’s also quite hard to use around the nose. They do help making the cream slowly penetrate the skin, but it takes forever, and I feel like you still have to use your fingers if you don’t want to stay with a layer of moisturizer that you can feel.

The moisturizer itself is quite good, for the summertime, it is enough for my dry skin, but it is not as thick as the night creams I usually like to use. It smells nice, very fruity/citrusy, and it’s not too strong. It’s not sticky and leaves the skin soft and hydrated.

It is made with vitamin C, pomegranate extract, argan oil and carrot seed oil. Vitamin C is good for protecting your skin from pollution, evening the skin tone and making your skin look younger. Pomegranate extract may improve the appearance of wrinkles and also helps fighting environmental aggressors, like vitamin C. Argan and carrot seed oil are great for hydration, amongst other benefits.

Overall this is a good, quite affordable moisturizer, but I’m not a fan of the massaging rollerballs. I don’t find the rollerballs to be super useful and they don’t feel nice on the skin. If you have dry skin like me, the cream is probably okay for the summertime but you’ll want something richer for the winter time. Im glad I gave it a try but would not repurchase.
